CCT Gene

A molecular chaperone complex that assists in protein folding. Composed of eight subunits (CCT1–CCT8) forming a ring-like structure. Essential for folding cytoskeletal proteins like actin and tubulin.

TCP-1

The first identified subunit of the CCT complex (also called CCT1). Plays a key role in assisting newly synthesized proteins to fold correctly. Works within the CCT/TRiC complex to maintain cell structure and function.
