New cards
What is a podocyte?
'Octopus like' structure, with extended arms. The spaces between the fingers are paths which the filtrate travels through.
3
New cards
What do podocytes do
They prevent large molecules such as proteins and blood cells from passing through. Smaller molecules can pass through due to their high pressure.
4
New cards
What useful substances need to be reabsorbed after ultrafiltration
Amino acids and glucose
5
New cards
