Mulitistate Nation
a nation spread across multiple states(arabs, koreans)
Stateless Nation
a nation without a reconized independent state
(kurds, palestine, Rohingas)
Sovereignty
the authority of a state to govern itself without outside interference(us domestic law, china asserts control over tibet)
A nation is based on cultural identity while a state is a political entity with borders in sovereignty
Most modern states are multinational due to migration, conquest, and colonialism
Nation states are rare because borders rarely aligned perfectly with a cultural group
