Human Culture Pt. 1

Southeast people way of travel, Many travel by foot or by canoes. During times of warfare, weapons are used such as bows and arrows.

Many Southeast  people made and wore dresses, leggings, breach clothes, and deerskin shirts . Woman wore wraparound skirts made from plant fiber. Feathers from turkeys were tied on a net to make robes.

The some men  shave their heads, just leaving a small tuft of hair on their head. While Choctaw men let their hair grow long. People would honor their ancestors by having elaborate funeral ceremonies.

The green corn dance was the most important part of Southeastern people, the dance was thought to maintain harmony and to make things pure again. The harvest was for a few days and severed as a time to give thanks. When a new year began a community fire was lit, a woman from each household would take  some fire for her fireplace/hearth.
