Nervous Tissue
Composed of giant multipolar neurons, including cell body, nucleus, and axon.
Muscle Tissue
Includes smooth, cardiac, and skeletal muscle types.
Smooth Muscle
Involuntary, non-striated muscle that lines most visceral organs and has uninucleated fibers.
Cardiac Muscle
Involuntary striated muscle with intercalated discs, tubular and branched in structure.
Skeletal Muscle
Voluntary muscle characterized by striations and multinucleated fibers.
Epithelial Tissue
Covers body surfaces and lines cavities; includes types such as stratified squamous and simple columnar.
Transitional Epithelium
Type of epithelium that changes shape to accommodate stretching, found in the bladder.
Pseudostratified Columnar Epithelium
Epithelial tissue with varying cell heights, found in the nasal passage.
Simple Cuboidal Epithelium
Single layer of cube-like cells, commonly found in kidney tubules.
Stratified Squamous Epithelium
Multiple layers of cells that protect underlying tissues; found in the esophagus lining.
Simple Squamous Epithelium
Single layer of flat cells, found in the lungs.
Connective Tissue
Supports and connects other tissues; includes types such as blood, cartilage, and adipose.
Hyaline Cartilage
Type of cartilage with chondrocytes, providing support and flexibility.
Adipose Tissue
Connective tissue that stores fat droplets for energy and insulation.
Bone Tissue
Connective tissue with a central canal and osteons for structural support.
Tendon
Composed of white fibrous tissue, connecting muscle to bone.
