is a graphical representation of the earth’s surface, drawn to scale as seen from above.
Hazard maps
are maps specially made to show the susceptibility of a particular area to a specific hazard.
are developed to provide detailed information to help local governments in assigning areas for a particular land use. These maps are also used by local governments in setting construction requirements needed to preserve public safety.
are also important in planning for disaster risk reduction and mitigation measures.
Map Title
tells you what the map is all about.
Scale.
shows you the ratio between the map distance and the ground
distance.
Bar scale.
is a means by which you can directly measure the distance between
two points or locations on the ground.

This provides the color coding of the different levels of ____to the
hazard

shows the relative location of the area covered by the map
