Ecology
The study of relationships between organisms and their environment
Organism
Any form of life. Also concerning the organization of matter in nature the most exclusive level since it is an individual.
Species
groups of organisms that resemble one another in appearance, behavior, chemistry, and genetic endowment
Wild species
species that exist in a population of individuals in a natural habitat ideally similar to the one in which its ancestors evolved
Domesticated species
such as cows, sheep, food crops, animals in zoos, plants in arboretums, and lawn grasses, flowers and trees, are one that have been plucked from their normal ecological environment to fulfill the needs of humans and perform less of an ecological or evolutionary role than other species
Population
consists of a group of interacting individuals of the same species that occupy a specific area at the same time
Genetic diversity
natural populations with individuals varying slightly in their genetic makeup
Habitat
the place where a population normally lives
Community
populations of all different species occupying a particular space
Biological community
a complex interacting network of plants, animals, and microorganisms
