Legislative Oversight

Committees in Congress hold hearings and do investigations to make sure the laws they passed are working. This also makes sure the President and Bureaucracy are accountable to the people for how they execute the laws.

Constituents are the people that an elected official represents. They are the people living in a certain area, like a town or a state.

Districts are drawn on a map to divide up areas for voting and electing representatives. Each district must have about the same number of people.
