Definiton of hydrogen bonds
Electrostatic attraction between a hydrogen atom on one molecule and the lone pair from a highly electronegative atom on another molecule.
Where does attraction have to be drawn from
Lone pair to H atom or wont be correct.
What are anomalous properties of water
Ice is less dense than water: due to rigid H bonds which form open lattices as they push.
Unusually high melting/boiling point: H bonds are strongest intermolecular forces requiring more energy to overcome.
Which are the most electronegative atoms and why
Nitrogen, Oxygen and Fluorine(NOF)
they are diatomic so have more electrons.
