Doolittle's Raid
1st air raid by US to strike Japanese home island. Didn't actually do much damage but demonstrated that Japan wasn't invincible and raised US morale
Battle of the Coral Sea
Japan vs. Allied Forces. Japan damaged the Yorktown but decided to postpone invasion
Midway
Changed the tide of the war. While Nagumo was attempting to annihilate Midway, the USS Yorktown found the Japanese fleet and sunk 4 Japanese carriers. The last Japaneses attempt at offensive in WWII

Br./US invasion of North Africa. Churchill advocated for a peripheral strategy. Germany loses Africa after Rohmel (Desert Fox) was finally defeated

last gasp of Germans. Blizzard conditions. Allies able to defeat Germans with air supremacy. Patton comes from the South, Bradley comes from the North and they pincer the Germans. McAuliffe responded "Nuts" to German offer of surrender
The Turkey Shoot
naval battle. Japanese use inexperienced naval aircrafts and are decimated by the US.
Leyte Gulf
Largest naval battle in history. Japanese taunt Halsey, who goes on a goose chase for glory. Inexperienced US pilots are able to find Mogami and sink it.
Iwo Jima
Japanese hide out in underground tunnels and let Americans get onto the beach and then fire. Took 11 times as long as expected for US to secure. Overlooked by Mt. Suribachi
Okinawa
US attacks on Easter Sunday. Takes island 3 months later with many casualties
