What is the primary function of the Commander's Tactical Display (CTD)?
To provide the commander with enhanced capabilities for navigation, fire control, and system diagnostics in the M2A3 vehicle.
What are two key components displayed on the Status Bar of the CTD?
Date/Time/Group (DTG) and Current Vehicle Position.
What does the D/N switch on the CTD control?
It toggles the display between 100% and 50% illumination for day and night operations.
How can the commander adjust the screen brightness on the CTD?
By using the BRT +/- keys located at the top right of the CTD.
What does the INU Status Indicator field on the CTD indicate?
The operational status of the Inertial Navigation Unit (INU), showing if it's operational, calibrated, or if it has faults.
What mode is activated to reduce power consumption of the M2A3 while maintaining capability to respond to threats?
Silent Watch mode.
What happens if the commander does not acknowledge pop-up messages on the CTD?
The message will continue to appear on top of all other screens until acknowledged.
What does the Cursor Control Button on the CTD allow the commander to do?
It allows the commander to move a cursor 360º to interact with the display and activate selectable software elements.
What is the purpose of the Commander's Data Entry Tool (CDET)?
To allow the commander to input data into the vehicle's computer system, similar to a standard keyboard.
What does the MAL indicator on the CTD report?
It displays the number of sub-systems with malfunctions.
What is the role of the Video Controls on the CTD?
To provide situational awareness by allowing dismount troops to view different perspectives like the Driver, Gunner, and Commander views.
How do you access the Silent Watch function on the CTD?
By selecting the SILENT WATCH Softkey located at the main level of the menu tree.
What is indicated when the MAL field on the CTD lists a number next to it?
It indicates the number of sub-systems that have at least one malfunction.
In the CTD, what does the C-GPS status indicate?
Encrypted GPS status, showing that valid keys are available for operation.
