How do you check the validity of a DEA #?

  • step 1: add 1st, 3rd, and 5th digits

  • step 2: add 2nd, 4th, and 6th digits then multiply by 2

  • step 3: add both of those steps together

  • step 4: look at the right most digit and see if it matches the 9th digit of the DEA #
