Analyzes your own thoughts, actions, and feelings to gain insight
Why reflecting matters?
Builds self-awareness, identifies learning needs, strengthens practice and is a BCCNM requirement.
Reflection on practice
often triggered by a breakdown in clinical judgment and is critical for the development of clinical knowledge and improvement in clinical reasoning
Reflection in action
is understood or implied without being stated, occurs in the situation
Reflection-on-action:
occurs after the situation, encourages professional growth through the examination of our: beliefs, feelings, thoughts, values, behaviours, actions etc.
