Absolute
Exist in and of itself, without relation to anything else; a universal value or principle applicable to all people, at all times, and in all places; an objective moral standard in ethics.
Objective Morality
Moral principles that are objective and unchanging, based on external criteria.
Subjective Morality
Moral principles based on internal criteria and determined by the individual.
Moral Absolutism
The belief that moral rules exist that are always true, regardless of culture or situation.
Moral Relativism
The view that moral judgments are true or false only relative to some particular standpoint (for instance, that of a culture or a historical period) and that no standpoint is uniquely privileged over all others.
Revelation
God sharing His secrets with us, God showing us Himself.
Conscience
An internal understanding of right and wrong; a personal sensitivity to sin and righteousness.
Laws
Clear, direct, and universal statements of right and wrong.
Principles
Attitudes, desires, and concepts that serve as applied standards of right and wrong.
Personal Standards
Guardrails or boundaries that an individual sets to govern his or her behavior, based upon the Word of God (laws and principles).
Lex talionis
Law of retribution; fair and equitable treatment of morality.
Ceremonial Law
Guide and govern Israel worship related to the Tabernacle, religious festivals, feasts, and dietary restrictions.
Civil Law
Application of God’s moral/law standards to a particular time in culture; also called judgment or casuistic law.
Moral Law
Internal, inward, natural laws based on conformity of God’s character; also referred to as apodictic law.
Apodictic Law
Simple statement of something that is right and wrong; deontological category; rule-based and duty-centered.
Casuistic Law
"If-then" statement; theological category; focus is on in-state and result.
Delegated
Transferred; authorized; in place of.
Submit
A voluntary attitude that results in a veritable action.
General Revelation
General revelation through creation and conscience.
Special Revelation
Special revelation through Scripture.

To mark off by boundaries; to divide.
Testimony
The opportunity for one's attitude and behavior to influence the opinion of others.

Likeness
The resemblance of a copy to the original; translates as similitude.
Sanctification
