Chattel Slavery
A form of slavery in which individuals are treated as personal property to be bought and sold.

The route across the Atlantic Ocean that enslaved Africans were forced to take on slave ships.
The Pequot War
A conflict from 1636-1637 between the Pequot tribe and English settlers that resulted in the near destruction of the Pequot.
King Philip's War
A conflict from 1675-1676 between New England colonists and Native Americans led by Metacom, also known as King Philip.
Bacon's Rebellion
A 1676 revolt led by Nathaniel Bacon against the colonial government of Virginia, reflecting tensions between classes and natives.
Plantation Economy
An economic system based on large-scale agricultural operations, particularly in the South, relying heavily on enslaved labor.
Quakers
Members of the Religious Society of Friends, known for their advocacy of peace, equality, and the abolition of slavery.
Transatlantic Slave Trade
The forced transportation of Africans to the Americas, where they were sold into slavery, peaking between the 16th and 19th centuries.
Dominion of New England

The Glorious Revolution
