Self-Directed Learning (SDL)
A learning approach where individuals take the initiative, with or without the help of others, in diagnosing their learning needs, formulating goals, identifying resources, and evaluating learning outcomes.
Biographical Research
The study of an individual's life history in order to understand learning experiences or behaviors.
Industriousness
The quality of being hardworking and diligent, especially in one’s studies or profession.
Perseverance
Steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
Curiosity
A strong desire to know or learn something, often motivating individuals to explore and inquire.
Creative Ingenuity
The ability to think outside the box and come up with inventive solutions to problems.
Primary Experience
Hands-on or direct engagement in an activity, which significantly contributes to learning.
Team of Rivals
A term describing Lincoln's strategy of appointing leaders from opposing factions to his Cabinet, showcasing his ability to unify diverse perspectives.
Person Process Context (PPC) Model
A framework that emphasizes the importance of an individual’s characteristics (person), the methods of teaching and learning (process), and the environment (context) in self-directed learning.
Single-Minded Pursuit
A strong focus on achieving a specific goal, often disregarding distractions or difficulties.
