Civil Rights Movement
A struggle for social justice in the United States aiming to end racial discrimination and obtain equal rights under the law.
NAACP
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, founded in 1909 to fight for civil rights and end discrimination.
Civil Disobedience
The act of intentionally breaking unjust laws to challenge and change them, a strategy used during the Civil Rights Movement.
Martin Luther King Jr.
A leader in the Civil Rights Movement who advocated for nonviolent protest and civil disobedience.
Brown v. Board of Education
The 1954 Supreme Court case that ruled that separate educational facilities are inherently unequal, thus unconstitutional.

Boycotts
Refusal to purchase goods or services as a form of protest against policies or practices deemed unjust.
