wealth- people in HICs have a higher QoL due to higher incomes
health-people in HICs live longer and vice versa
migration- “brain drain“ causes the most intelligent/ best paid to move to more successful locations, leaving that area even worse off.

natural hazards- eg Haiti 2010, risk of tectonic hazards lead to devastating effects
natural resources- access to safe water, fuel resources like oil

aid- improves services like healthcare, schools and roads
trade-trade surplus improves national economy
health- lack of clean water= diseases= less people available for work
education- educated people earn more money= they pay more tax= improved country development
politics- corruption of governments and their ability to trade

debt relief- countries debt is cancelled so more money can be spent on development, however this could be abused by some countries
