Negative fractions
Fractions with a negative value; obtained when the numerator or denominator is negative, or when a result is negative.
Decimal comma notation
European-style decimals that use a comma to separate the integer and fractional parts, e.g., -0,5 equals -0.5.
11:3 notation
Colon notation represents division or ratio; 11:3 means 11 divided by 3.
Zero numerator property
If the numerator is zero (0/n with n ≠ 0), the fraction equals 0.
Multiplication symbol
The × symbol denotes multiplication between numbers or expressions.
Order of operations
Rules that specify performing multiplication/division before addition/subtraction, as in 7 - 11 × 4.
Fraction reduction
Process of simplifying a fraction by dividing numerator and denominator by their greatest common factor.
