Smooth Muscle

Nonstriated, spindle-shaped muscle that is involuntary and cannot fatigue seen in intestine + vessel

Cardiac Muscle

Striated, branched muscles that are interconnected by intercalated discs that are involuntary and cannot fatigue only found in heart

Skeletal Muscle

Striated, cylindrical, slender tissue that is voluntary and unbranched. They can fatigue and bundles are called Fibers, move bones, tongue +eye socket

Loose Connective

Contain fibroblasts, matrix made of elastin and collagen matrix, surround organs + vessels in sac-like membrane

Fibrous Connective

Contain Fibroblasts, matrix of collagen, compose ligaments and Tendons and cornea

Blood

Produced in bone marrow, include red blood cells, white blood cells, and pantalettes, matrix is called plasma

Lymph

Non-polar tissue that circulates through lymph vessels, circulate lipids and immune cells, lymph nodes filled with macrophages that clean foreign materials from lymph

Cartilage

Composed of collagen, secreted by chondrocytes forms models of skeletal + matures into bone, avascular meaning slow to grow and repair

Bone

Collagen and calcium fibers, secreted by osteocytes, arranged in ring called osteons

Collagen

Strong protein fibers, thick straight or wavy, bundles, very strong + resist stretching

Elastin

Elastic protein fibers; slender branched, stretchy they recoil to original length after strength

Plasma Cell

Produce antibodies to flag foreign cells for immune system (white blood cells)
