5 Pillars - HADITH
‘The messenger of Allah has said Islam has been built on 5 pillar.’
10 obligatory acts - HADITH
"‘Whoever among you sees an evil should change it with his hand. If he is unable to do that thing with his tongue. If he is unable to do that, then with his heart and this is the weakest level of faith.”
Shahadah
‘There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah’ + ‘And Ali is the friend of God.’
Wudu
‘You who believe when you are about to pray, wash your face and hands up to the elbows, wipe you heads, wash your feet up to the ankles and if required wash your whole body.’
Salah
‘Your lord says call on me and I will answer you.’
Jummah
‘Believers! When the call to prayer is made on the day of congregation, hurry towards the reminder of God and leave off trading.’
Sawm
‘It was the month of Ramadan that the Qur’an was revealed as guidance for mankind….any one of you that is present that month should fast.’
Night of power
‘The night of decree is better than a thousand months.’
Zakah
‘They ask you what they should give. Say ‘whatever you give should be for parents, close relatives, orphans, the needy and travellers.' God is well aware of what good you do.’
Zakah - test
‘Your possessions and your children are a test, but with Allah is a splendid reward.’
Hardship
‘Allah does not burden any soul beyond its capacity.’
Hajj
‘The pilgrimage to the house is a duty owed to God by people who are able to undertake it.’
Jihad
‘Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors.’
Jihad - peace
‘But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou incline towards peace.’
Id-ul-Fitr (also obligatory nature of Sawm)

Id-ul-Adha
‘Their meat will not reach God, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you.’
Ashura
‘Fast on the Day of Ashura for indeed I anticipate that Allah will forgive the sins of the year before it.’
Salah - direction
‘Turn your face in the direction of the Sacred Mosque: wherever you believers may be, turn your faces to it.’
Salah - prostrate
‘Prostrate and draw near to Allah’
Id-ul-Adha - Sacrifice
‘My son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I (must) sacrifice you’ He said, ‘O my father, do as you are commanded’ (Qur’an 37: 102)
