Lena
This River is the easternmost of the three great Siberian rivers that flow into the Arctic Ocean. It is the 11th longest river in the world at 2,734 miles (4,400 km).
Mekong
This river is the world's 10th-longest river and the 7th-longest in Asia. Its estimated length is 3,050 (4,909 km) and it provides inland transportation for the millions living along its banks, and tributaries.
Ganges
This river is the most sacred river to Hindus and is also a lifeline to millions of Indians who live along its course and depend on it for their daily needs. It is 1,560 miles (2,510 km) in length.
Indus
This river originates in Tibet and flows through India and Pakistan. It provides water resources for the economy of Pakistan - especially the Breadbasket of the southeast, which accounts for most of the nation's agricultural production. It is 1,800 miles (2,900 km) in length.
Yellow River
This river is the second-longest river in China and the sixth longest in the world at 3,395 miles (5,464 km) in length. It's called "the cradle of Chinese civilization" as its basin - specifically, the Wei valley - was the birthplace of ancient Chinese civilizations and the most prosperous region in early Chinese history.
Ob
This river is in western Siberia, Russia. The river was used mostly for irrigation, drinking water, hydroelectric energy, and fishing. It's 2,268 miles (3,650 km) in length.
Yangtze
This Chinese river is the longest river in Asia, and the fourth longest in the world at 3,915 miles (6,301 km). This river drains one-fifth of the land area of the People's Republic of China and its river basin is home to one-third of China's population.
Jordan River
This river rises in Syria from springs near Mount Hermon. It flows south to Lake Merom, through the Sea of Galilee, and into the Dead Sea, which lies 1,300 feet below sea level. The river forms the nation of Jordan's boundary with the West Bank and northern Israel. In the New Testament, the river was the site of the baptism of John the Baptist. In modern times, about 80% of its water is diverted for human use, a figure that has led to the shrinking of the Dead Sea and serious contention among bordering nations.
Brahmaputra
This river runs 1,800 miles from its source in the Tibetan Himalayas; it starts eastward across the plateau, then turns south into the Indian state of Assam, and then enters Bangladesh where it merges with the Ganges to form the world's largest delta. While serving as a historical route to Tibet, the river is also prone to disastrous flooding.
Euphrates
This river defines the western border of Mesopotamia; it also rises in the Zagros Mountains of Turkey and its shores are home to Fallujah and Babylon. It is the longer of the two rivers with a course of 1,740 miles. Both this river and the Tigris have changed courses several times leaving ruins in the desert where cities have been abandoned.
Tigris
This river is the eastern of the two rivers that define the historic region of Mesopotamia
that was home to the ancient civilizations of Sumer and Akkad. It rises in Turkey, then flows southeast by Mosul, Tikrit, and Baghdad before joining the Euphrates to make the Shatt-al-Arab, which subsequently empties into the Persian Gulf.
Irrawaddy
This river is the chief river of Myanmar. It flows 1,350 miles past Yangon (formerly Rangoon) and Mandalay to the Gulf of Martaban, an arm of the Bay of Bengal. Its delta is one of the world's most important rice-growing regions, and its name is thought to come from the Sanskrit word for "elephant."
Himalaya Mountains
This mountain range is the highest in South Asia. It separates India from the rest of Asia and is the home of the main rivers that are responsible for providing water to a large part of the subcontinent India.
Kunlun Mountains.
These Mountains are one of the longest spread mountain range in Asia, extending for more than 3000 kilometers across the western China and the Tibetan Plateau.
Tian Shan Mountains
This Mountain chain is located in Central Asia. It is positioned to the north and west of the Taklamakan Desert. These Mountains are also situated near the border region of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and western China.
Altay Mountains
These Mountains are a mountain range in East-Central Asia near southern Siberia. They spread over the areas of Russia, China, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan. The mighty rivers Irtysh and Ob have their origin here.
Ural Mountains
These Mountains are 1,640 miles (2,640 km) in length and spread across the northern-edge of the Western Russia down through north-west Kazakhstan. They form a natural border between West Siberian land and East European plains.
Zagros Mountains
These Mountain range forms the largest mountain range in Iran and Iraq, spreading across the whole length of the western and southwestern Iranian plateau and ending at the Strait of Hormuz. These mountains are separated into many sub-ranges and organically have the same age as the age as The Alps. These Mountain range are also a home to a rich and complex flora, and widespread oak-dominated woodland is found in this region.
Hindu Kush Mountains
This Mountain Range is one of the greatest mountain ranges in Central Asia. It forms a part of the Alpine zone that spreads across Eurasia from East to West. This Mountain range also separates the Pamir range near the point where the borders of China, Pakistani-controlled Kashmir, and Afghanistan meet, and it finally merges into the minor ranges in western Afghanistan.
Western Ghats
This Mountain range is also known as Sahyadri Hills and they are older than the Himalaya mountains. They spread along the western side of India with an average elevation around 1,200 m (3,900 ft). This mountain range is actually responsible for influencing the Indian monsoon weather pattern.
Eastern Ghats
This Mountain range is a range of mountains along India's eastern coast. There are four rivers in India, Mahanadi, Krishna, Godavari, and Kaveri flow across them. Sometimes they are called as "Estuaries of India": it's a great habitat for a varied flora and fauna, including Asiatic elephant, leopards, and tigers.
Pamir Mountains
These Mountains are a mountain range in Central Asia at the junction of the Himalayas with the Tian Shan, Karakoram, Kunlun, and Hindu Kush ranges. All vast valleys lie in the midst of the mountain peaks of 7,000 meters and higher.
