Dante Network
A network where different clock leaders provide synchronization to all Dante devices regardless of their individual sample rates.
1Gbps Network Switch
A switch capable of managing more Dante channels than a single 1Gbps link, allowing the total of all port capacities to be handled at all times.
Bit Depth
The resolution of the audio signal's amplitude; greater bit depth increases dynamic range.
Sample Rate
The audio resolution in time; according to the Nyquist Theorem, it must be at least twice the highest frequency to be captured.
Uncompressed Audio
Audio that is sent in a bit-perfect manner without compression.
JPEG2000 Codec
A video codec used for visually lossless compression, providing excellent results for video quality.
Dante AV
Devices that transport audio and video in separate essences, allowing for compatibility with Dante audio devices.
Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE)
A feature that should be disabled on Dante networks, as it can cause data interruption and skew clock synchronization.
Subscription (in Dante)
A connection that can be established between two Dante interfaces for audio or video channels.
Latency
The amount of time required for a process to occur, measured from the input to the output of a process.
