How does an event in Abraham's life prefigure an event in Jesus' life
Abraham nearly sacrificing Isaac on the mountain. Abraham was willing to sacrifice his only son, like how God sacrificed his only son, Jesus. Abraham and Isaac also had to carry wood for the fire, which was the location of what would have been the sacrifice, and Jesus had to carry his wooden cross to the spot of his crucifixion. Abraham was called from God to sacrifice his son and Jesus was called from God to die for our sins

Jesus could have healed everyone but did not in order to show us what we could have when we join him in life and death.
