job boom; there will be a lot of job vacancies now that they are retiring

Charismatic Leaders

Direct followers according to personal preference, both rational-legal and traditional are precautious with these types of leaders

Representative Democracy

Elect candidates that we believe represent our interest

Democratic Party

Most associated with the working class

Republican Party

most associated with the buisness owners

Checks and balances

which is a three branch system comprising of the Legislative, Executive and judicial branches

The Pluralism in Distributing power

keeps the gov from turning against its citizens

Totalitarianism

A dictatorship and a form of government

Not restricted by a constitution or laws or opposition etc.

Example of totalitarian government: Nazi Germany and the Gestapo

Terrorism

The use of violence or the threat of violence to produce fear in order to attain political objective

Terrorism in the Middle East The preferred method of violence in the Middle East used by the forces opposing the U.S. and its coalition forces

Genocide

The intentional killing of a large group of people, specifically those of a particular ethnic group or nation

Examples: The massacre of Native Americans in the 1800s The Holocaust (the German Nazis killed the Jews) The Armenian Genocide (the Muslim Turks killed the Christian Armenians) The slaughter of the Tutsis in Rwanda The killing in Tiananmen Square in China
