audience analysis
first step in preparing a speech, the process of gathering and analyzing information about audience members attributes and motivations with the explicit aim of preparing your speech in ways that will be meaningful to them.
you will spend most of your time on audience analysis before your speech (brainstorming, organizing, guiding questions, research)
