Step 1
Fill a graduated cylinder with 50cm3 of NaOH and pour it into a labelled coffee cup
Step 2
Repeat with the HCl
Step 3
Place a thermometer in each cup
Step 4
Wait until they both reach the same temperature or find the average.
Step 5
Add the acid into the base and place the lid
Step 6
Swirl gently and notice cup gets a bit warmer
Step 7
Note the maximum temperature it reaches
