Region I (Ilocos Region)
The region is composed of the provinces of Ilocos Norte,
Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan. The famous attractions include the Paoay
Church and Bangui Windmills in Ilocos Norte, City of Vigan in Ilocos Sur, and
the Hundred Islands in Pangasinan.
Region II (Cagayan Valley Region)
The region is composed of the provinces of
Batanes, Cagayan.
Region III (Central Luzon Region)
The region is composed of the provinces of
Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales.
Famous attractions include the Pinatubo Crater Lake in Zambales, Candaba
Swamp in Pampanga, Barasoain Church in Bulacan, and Pantabangan Dam in
Nueva Ecija.
Region IV-A (CALABARZON)
Composed of the provinces of Cavite, Laguna,
Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon. The famous attractions that can be found in this region include the Angono Petroglyphs which is located in Rizal, Nagcarlan
Underground Cemetery in Laguna, Taal Lake and Volcano in Batangas, and the
ruins in Corregidor Island located in Cavite.
Region IV-B (MIMAROPA)
Composed of the provinces of Oriental Mindoro,
Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan. The famous
attractions that can be found in this region include Apo Reef Natural Park in
Occidental Mindoro, as well as Puerto Princesa’s Underground River, the
limestone cliffs of El Nido, the animals at the Calauit Island Wildlife Sanctuary,
and Tubbataha Reef Natural Park located in Palawan.
Region V (Bicol Region)
The Bicol Region is composed of provinces of Albay,
Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Sorsogon.
Famous attractions that can be found in the Bicol Region include the Mayon
Volcano that is located in Albay and the whale sharks situated in Sorsogon.
Region VI (Western Visayas Region)
Western Visayas Region is comprised of
Provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo. The various famous
attractions include the white sands of Boracay, Miag-ao Church located in Iloilo,
and the mango plantations situated in Guimaras.
Region VII (Central Visayas Region)
Central Visayas Region is composed of
the provinces of Bohol, Cebu, and Siquijor. Famous attractions include the
Chocolate Hills of Bohol and Magellan’s Cross that is located in Cebu.
Region VIII.
Eastern Visayas Region is comprised of the provinces of Samar,
Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Southern Leyte, Leyte, and Biliran. The
different famous attractions that can be found in these provinces include the San
Juanico Bridge in Leyte/Samar, Sohoton Caves located in Samar, and Biri Island
Natural Rock Formations situated in Northern Samar.
Region IX.
Western Mindanao Region is comprised of the provinces of
Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga Sibugay. The various
famous attractions that can be found in these provinces include the Rizal Shrine
in Zamboanga del Norte and Pasonanca Park located in Zamboanga City.
Region X.
Northern Mindanao of Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental,
Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, and Bukidnon. The different famous attractions that
can be found in these provinces include the Sunken Cemetery in Camiguin,
Maria Cristina Falls and Tinago Falls in Iligan City, Dahilayan Adventure Park
in Bukidnon, and Cagayan de Oro River.
Region XI.
Davao Region is comprised of the provinces of Davao del Norte, Davao
del Sur, Davao Oriental, and Compostela Valley. The various famous attractions
that can be found in these areas include Mt. Apo in Davao del Sur and Aliwagwag
Falls located in Davao Oriental.
Region XII
(South Central Mindanao Region: SOCCSKSARGEN). The provinces
of Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, South Cotabato, and Cotabato Province, as well
as General Santos City, made up this region. Lake Sebu in South Cotabato and
the Liguasan Marsh in Sultan Kudarat are two popular tourist destinations.
Region XIII (Caraga Region).
The provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur,
Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and the Dinagat Islands made up this region.
The Agusan Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary in Agusan del Sur and Siargao Island in
Surigao del Norte are also popular tourist destinations.
Cordillera Adminsitrative Region.
The provinces of Abra, Apayao, Benguet,
Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province made up this region. The Rice Terraces
of Ifugao, Mt. Pulag National Park, the hanging coffins of Sagada in the Mountain
Province, and the Ambuklao Dam in Benguet are also popular tourist
destinations.
Muslim Mindanao Autonomous Region (ARMM)
It is made up of the Basilan
provinces (except Isabela), (except Isabela), Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu,
and Tawi-Tawi.
National Capital Region (NCR)
It is composed of 16 cities (Manila, Pasay,
Quezon, Las Piñas, Paranaque, Valenzuela, Makati, Mandaluyong, San Juan,
Pasig, Taguig, Malabon, Navotas, Marikina, Caloocan, and Muntinlupa) and one
municipality (Pateros). Popular tourist destinations include the Walled City of
Intramuros, Rizal Park in Manila, and La Mesa Ecopark in Quezon City.
