It works. Kohnken combined data from 55 studies and compared the CI and standard police interviews and the CI had an average 41% increase in accurate info.

Limitation of CI

Not all elements are as useful. Bull and Milne found that each of the four texhniques used alone provided more accuracy than the standard police interview. but a combination of report everything and reinstate the context produced better recall than all aspects of it. Therefore some aspects of CI are more useful than the others. Doubts the credibility of all of it

Time constraints

Officers may be reluctant to use it as it takes more time and training than the standard police interview.
