How does the eye focus on something up close
ciliary muscle contracts, susponsory ligaments slacken causing lens to become thicker and more light to be refracted
How does the eye focus on something further away?
ciliary muscles relax, suspensory ligaments to tighten and lens becomes thinner and less light is refracted
What is the pupil reflex and its purpose?
reflex action to protect retina from damage, in dim light it dilates to allow as much light as possible and in bright light it constricts
happens to the radial muscles, and circular muscles when bright light comes in
radial muscles relax, circular muscles contract
happens to the radial muscles, and circular muscles when dim light comes in (dilation)
radial muscles contract, circular muscles relax
