Boundary lines
form a rectangular shape around the court.
Center-Line
extends from sideline to sideline underneath the net
Attack lines
are the lines placed 3 meters from the centerline of the court.
Serving Area
is the area behind the end line where the server serves.
Substitution Zone
is the area between the attack line and the centerline
Net
1 meter (3 ft.) and 9.5 meters (32 ft.) long when stretched.
Net antennas
Antennas are attached to the net inline with the outside edge of sideline.
Referee Stand
The volleyball game rules require the referee stand to be a stable platform that elevates the referees head to about 2 or 3 feet above the top of the net.
Ball
must be spherical with a laceless molded cover of 12 or more pieces of genuine or simulated smooth leather.
Scoresheet
provides space for lineups, individual scoring, team scoring, and timeouts.
Middle blocker
can read the opponent’s setter like a book and is quick enough to get from one end of the court to the other to block the ball.
Outside hitter
is a great all-around player.
Libero
plays in the back row and has impeccable ball control.

Dribbling

small forward
are responsible for scoring points and defending
power forward
mainly responsible for rebounding as well as scoring points and playing defense near the basket or near the perimeter areas of court
center
Usually the tallest and strongest player on the team and spends most of the game close to the basket.

defensive foul
occur when the offensive player is being fouled by the defender

a player in offense commits a foul when charging into a stationary defender.

It’s a violation against someone, either the player, coach, or coaching staff either spoken or behaved in extremely unsportsmanlike behavior
time-out
A player or a coach calls a time-out to discuss game plans and strategies. Referees also calls time-out during violation, foul, and end of the quarter.
out of bounds
When the ball touches the floor outside the borders of the court.
overtime
A basketball game cannot end with a tie or a draw. The teams play an extra period until they break the tie.
