1 - Planning stage trigger

This stage begins when something is not working ideally and management wants to take action

The Study Team

An interdisciplinary team of specialists who evaluate the current system with a broad viewpoint

2 - Preliminary Investigation

A brief (few weeks) evaluation where the team is encouraged to "think outside the box"

Investigation Report Contents

Must include Objectives, Current Problems, Current Solutions, and the proposed Cause of Action

The Steering Committee

A governing body of top management with decision power over the whole development process

Committee Decision Options

After the first report, they can: Do nothing, perform more investigations, or proceed to formal analysis
