Titration
A technique used to determine the concentration of a solution (analyte) by reacting it with a solution of known concentration (titrant).
Buret
A graduated glass tube with a tap at one end, for delivering known volumes of a liquid, especially in titrations.
Erlenmeyer Flask
A conical flask with a flat bottom, used for mixing and titrating liquids.
Phenolphthalein
A chemical indicator that is colorless in acidic solutions and pink in alkaline solutions, used in titrations.
Molarity (mol/L)
A unit of concentration, defined as the number of moles of solute per liter of solution.
NaOH
Sodium hydroxide, a strong base whose concentration is being determined through titration with HCl.
HCl
Hydrochloric acid, a strong acid used as a titrant to determine the concentration of NaOH.
Titration Endpoint
The point in a titration where the indicator changes color, signaling that the reaction is complete.
Volumetric Material
Laboratory equipment designed for accurate measurement of volume, such as burets, pipettes, and volumetric flasks.
m/V%
Mass/volume percentage concentration, expresses the mass of solute per 100 mL of solution.
