Group of muscles on the inner thigh. Responsible for pulling the legs toward the body's midline.
Adductors
Located on the front of the upper arm. Responsible for flexing the elbow.
Biceps Brachii
Large, triangular-shaped muscle on the shoulder. Responsible for lifting the arm and shoulder movements in multiple directions.
Deltoid
Largest muscle in the body. Forms the bulk of the butt. Responsible for hip extension, such as standing from a seated position.
Gluteus Maximus
Group of three muscles on the back of the thigh: biceps femoris, semitendinosus , and semimembranosus. Responsible for knee flexion. Engaged in running, jumping, and bending the knee. Prone to strains in sports that require sudden acceleration.
Hamstrings
Nickname: the lats. Large, flat muscle on the back, extending from the lower spine to the upper arm. Almost looks like a sheet across the back. Responsible for pulling the arm backwards. Helps with pulling movements, like pull-ups and rowing.
Latissimus Dorsi
Side muscles of the abdomen. Includes internal and external obliques. Responsible for twisting and bending the torso. Important for core stability
Obliques
Nickname: quads. Group of four muscles on the front: rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, vastus medialis
Quadriceps
Longest muscle in the body. Runs diagonally from the side of the hip across the front of the thigh.
Sartorius
Located on the front of the shin; responsible for dorsiflexion (lifting the foot)
