• Cartilage is made of chondroitin sulfate (chondro - cartilage)

• Distal - the other end

Periosteum (outer)

Dense connective tissue that covers bone.

• contains bone-growing cells (osteoblasts) to add to the thickness of the bone.

• assists in fracture repair.

• protects bone.

• attachment point for tendons/ligaments.

Medullary Cavity

Hollow cavity filled with yellow marrow in adults.
