sucking and rooting reflexes

stimulus: touch roof of mouth / stroke corner of cheek
response: sucking / turn towards side stimulated
integrates: 5 months / 3 months

flexor withdrawal reflex

stimulus: pain of sole of foot
response: pull LE into flexion
integrates: 1-2 months

crossed extension reflex

stimulus: pain to sole of foot (but hold LE so it doesn't flex)
response: extension and add of opposite leg

positive support reflex

stimulus: balls of feet contact support surface
response: legs extend to bear weight

stepping reflex

stimulus: when held upright, touch feet to surface

stimulus: prone or supine
response: prone = flex up, supine = extend

landau reflex

stimulus: ventral suspension
response: superman
integrates: 12-24 months

symmetric tonic neck reflex (STNR)

stimulus: flex or extend head in supported sitting
response: UE do what head does, LE does opposite
integrates: 8-12 months

parachute reflex

stimulus: support child in prone and lower towards ground
response: extend arms with open hands
integrates: doesn't .... protective reaction that remains

babinski reflex

stimulus: stroke lateral side of sole
response: toes fan out
integrates: 2 years

labyrinthine righting reflex

- tilt infant in vertical suspension with eyes covered
- orient head to vertical

optical righting reflex

- tilt infant in vertical suspension with eyes open

body righting reflex on head (BOH)

- body contacts surface
- lifts head away from surface

NOB vs BOB reflex

NOB = neck righting reflex
- turn head of infant in supine
- baby turns body towards head
BOB = body righting reflex
- bring leg over body
- upper body will follow the leg in a log roll fashion
