Net Force
The sum of all forces acting on an object.
Balanced Forces
Forces that are equal in size but opposite in direction, canceling each other out.
Unbalanced Forces
Forces that are not equal and cause a change in motion.
Acceleration
A measure of the change in velocity (speed and direction) during a period of time.
Friction
A force that resists the sliding motion of two surfaces touching, acting in the opposite direction.
Newton's Second Law of Motion
The greater the mass of an object, the greater the force needed to accelerate the object.
