Barriers
Physical, chemical, and response mechanisms that protect the body from pathogens.
Hair
A protective layer that captures pathogens, protects orifices, and provides airborne protection.
Skin
An organ covering the body that prevents the external environment from entering through direct contact and fomite contact.
Cilia
Little hairs that line the digestive, reproductive, and respiratory tracts and work with mucous to waft it out of the body.
Mucous
A sticky, thick substance that catches pathogens entering the body and provides airborne and ingestion protection.
Cough
Clears the throat and upper digestive tract to provide ingestion protection.
Sneeze
Cleans the respiratory tract and provides airborne protection.
Diarrhoea
Flushes the digestive tract, provides ingestion protection, and leads to dehydration.
Urination
Flushes the excretory tract, filters the blood, removes harmful substances, and provides ingestion and inhalation protection.
Dehydration
Leads to less mucous, increasing the risk of illness.
Tears
Contain lysosomes that digest debris and pathogens and flush the eye cavity.
Vaginal discharge
Flushing and acidity destroy STIs and is very acidic (around pH 3).
Stomach acid
Creates an acidic environment that kills pathogens, provides ingestion protection, and its effectiveness is reduced by ulcer supplements.
