Why was Jesus incarnated?

What is a covenant?
a solemn promise made from God to humans
What is Specification Test about Jesus’ new covenant?
Matthew 26:28: “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins”
What was animal sacrifice used for in the Old Testament?
atonement of sins in the Jewish tradition, with often a lamb being sacrificed
Why do we not have to sacrifice animals now?
at the crucifixion, Jesus is the last “sacrifical lamb” as his death atones and removes the sin of humanity
How did Jesus fulfil a prophecy?
Isaiah from the Old Testament that talks about the fulfilment of a prophecy and a Messiah coming and Jesus was the fulfilment of a prophecy in the Old Testament and suffered for the sins of others
What is a specification text about Jesus fulfilling a prophecy?
Isaiah 53:7: “He was oppressed and offlicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter”
What are some ways of the salvation?
law, grace and spirit
What is law?
following the teachings of Jesus and the Bible (e.g. the 10 commandments) to live a good life, like when the Bible said “do not kill” so you don’t

through faith in Christ, not your actions
What is spirit?
the Holy Spirit guides Christians
What do Roman Catholics believe you have to do to achieve salvation?
taking part in the sacraments mean they can achieve salvation and go to heaven (e.g baptism)
What do Protestants believe you have to do to achieve salvation?
faith in Jesus is of utmost important to reach salvation, and you need faith and to repent
What is concupiscence?
the belief that original sin is something we are all born with, passed down from your father and seminally present
What are the issues with orignal sin?
portrays an image of unfair God punishing all humanity for one incident
