Righteousness

Justification

a person being made righteous by their faith in Jesus Christ.

Gospel

the power of salvation.

Faith

complete trust or confidence in someone or something without visibly seeing it.

becoming like Christ.

meaning 'straw man', a person who takes part in a conversation. Possibly a Jew.

Law

The law was for the Jews. It's not about the law but about the relationship that we have with God because the law reveals our sin.

Ritual

acts done regularly. The circumcision of the heart or circumcision.

Natural Law

The natural law is for the Greeks.

Peace

Shalom. A spiritual wholeness that we get from God through the Holy Spirit. A right relationship with God. Absence of chaos. 'Well being' or 'prosperity'.

Making the relationship right

propriation.

Baptism

participating in the death, burial, & resurrection of Jesus; demonstrates the finality of his or her death to the reign of sin.

Paul's interlocutor argument

an effort to attain righteousness: Relationship equals obedience.

Thesis Statement of Romans

produces a right relationship with God; having a relationship with God is doing what He says.

Comparison of Adam and Jesus

Adam's decision resulted in sin and death but Jesus' death resulted in life.

Abraham's connection to Jew and Gentile

God appointed Abraham to be the father of many nations, which includes both Jews and Greeks.

Faith as offspring

The person that shares the same faith as Abraham is guaranteed to be his offspring.

Law and relationship

Not because of the law, but it was about the relationship.
