what is a hypothesis?
a statement made as the start of a study and clearly states the relationship between variables
what are the two types of hypothesis?
directional and non-directional
what is directional hypothesis?
there is a clear stated difference between the two conditions or groups of people (words like less, higher, lower)
what is non directional hypothesis
states that there is a difference between the two groups/ conditions but the difference is not stated/ specified
