Herd Immunity Threshold
The percentage of a population that must be immune (through vaccination or infection) to prevent disease spread, crucial for eradicating measles.
Immunosuppression
A condition where the immune response is diminished, which can result from measles infection, leading to 'immune amnesia'.
MMR Vaccine
The measles-mumps-rubella vaccine that provides safe and lasting protection against measles.
Transmission of Measles
Primarily occurs through respiratory droplets.
History of Measles Infection
Described in the 10th century and believed to have originated when human population densities allowed the spread of the virus.
