Mass
The amount of matter in an object\space.
Volume
The amount of space something takes up.
Density
The amount of matter (mass) in a specific amount of space (Volume).
Archimedes Principle
An object placed in a fluid has a down force and an up force.
Down Force
The mass of the object.
Up Force
The mass of the fluid displaced.
Types of buoyancy:
Positively buoyant- The down force is less than the up force.
Negatively buoyant- The down force is greater than the upfore.
Neutrally buoyant (within fluid)- Down force and up force are equal.
Floating (On surface)- Down force and up forace are equal.
Apparent mass:
Mass of object (in air) - Up force
