semi colon and periods

semi colons and periods serve the same purpose and are IDENTICAL. They both connect 2 independent clauses together

ex. “ I like going to the beach; I like tanning and eating fruits” and “

I like going to the beach. I like tanning and eating fruits”

THESE TWO ARE EXACTLY the same because semi colons and periods are the same

can you join 2 independet clauses with just a comma"?

NO NEVER. You cannot added just a comma to join 2 independent clauses.

ex. INCORRECT “ I like going to the beach, I like tanning and eating fruit”

  • this is wrong because you cant add just a comma

IF YOU REALLY WANTED TO JOIN 2 indeoendent clauses with a comma, you need to do so by “comma followed by FANBOYS” ONLY WAY

ex. CORRECT “ I like going to the beach, and I like tanning and eating fruit”
