Trinity
Three persons in one God
The word
A name used to refer to Jesus. The Bible says he was involved in creation
Incarnation
It means becoming flesh. In Christianity it refers to the belief that God became human.(Jesus)
Crucifixion
A method of execution by being nailed or tied to a cross. Designed to be slow and painful.
Resurrection
Coming back to life after death
Ascension
It means rising up. Christians celebrate Jesus's journey up to heaven after his resurrection
Sin
Actions that are morally wrong. Things humans do that break God’s law.
Original sin
Many Christians believe that since Adam and Eve, all humans are born with a tendency to do wrong and choose sin
Salvation
The way Christians believe that humans can be saved from sin by Jesus and enter heaven
Means of salvation
The way Christians believe that humans can be saved from sin by Jesus's and enter heaven.
Atonement
Making ammends or payment for a wrong. The belief that reconciliation between god and humans was brought about by the death of jeaus as a sacrifice
Judgement
Christians believe every soul will be judged by God and rewarded or punished
Omnipotent
All powerfull-a quality of God

Bringing about what is right snd fair according to the law or making up for a wrong that has been commited
Problem of evil
If God is omnipotent and omnibenevolent then why does evil exist. Therefore God doesn’t exist

Each of the three persons if fully God but they aren’t three God’s. They are one God

Literal- the genesis account is literally true. God created the world in seven days just as recorded in genesis
Metaphorical-the genesis account is a story to communicate important truths but it does not teach how the earth cama about

They care for the environment because it is God’s creation.
They treated humans as special because they are created in the image of God
They believe that creation teaches us about God. E.g. the ocean reminds us of God’s power
They are encouraged to pray to an all powerful God
How does incarnation influence Christians today
They treat jesus as a role model as he lived a perfect life
They listen to his teachings because they believe he was God
They pray to him because they believe he understand then as he came down to earth and lived a perfect life.

Christians believe that we will all be judged by God

When we die, followers of Jesus will go to heaven. Those who don’t follow Jesus go to hell

Jesus does to save everyone so all people go to heaven. This is called universalism
View 3
Mainly a Catholic View. When you die, you go to heaven or Hell, or you could go to purgatory
What is purgatory
where people go to purge their sins. They will eventually go to heaven depending on how much they sinned

They look forward to seeing loved ones who have died when they reach heaven

It says that God created us with free will. It is impossible for God to give us free will and ensure that we never do evil.

This world has evil in it to test and challenge us. This forces us to improve.
