Acceleration

Change in speed or velocity caused by unbalanced force acting on an object includes increasing speed, decreasing speed, and change in motion.

Direction

A straight path that an object can move along on

Balanced force

occurs when two forces acting on an object are equal in size and opposite in direction, resulting in no change in motion.

Unbalanced force

A force that causes a change in the motion of an object, resulting from unequal forces acting upon it. An individual force that is not being balanced by a force of equal magnitude 

Frame of reference 

A background object used to establish position or to measure movement of a point in space

Inertia

The tendency of an object to resist any change in motion 

Motion

Change in a objects position in respect of time and in comparison with the position of other objects used as reference points

Magnitude 

An amount of strength of a force 

Net force

Sum of all the forces acting on a object

Newton’s second law 

An objects acceleration depends on the net force applied to it and its mass

Speed

The rate at which an object covers distance

Velocity

The speed of something in a given direction
