Gravitational field

A region in space where a mass experience gravitational force

Centre of mass

The point which the total mass of the object concentrates

Newton’s law of gravitation

Any two points masses interact with each other with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of their separation.

Inverse square law

The intensity of a physical quantity is inversely proportional to the distance²

Gravitational field strength

The gravitational force per unit mass of a small object near the surface of earth.

Gravitational potential

Work done per unit mass in bringing a small mass test from infinity to the point
