Significance Testing
The process used to determine if the results of a study are statistically significant.
Correlation Coefficient (r)
A measure that indicates the extent to which two variables fluctuate together.
Coefficient of Determination
The square of the correlation coefficient, representing the proportion of variance explained by the correlation.
Correlation vs Causation
Correlation does not imply causation; just because two variables correlate does not mean one causes the other.
SPSS
Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, software used for statistical analysis.
Non-Parametric Tests
Statistical tests that do not assume a normal distribution of the data.
Chi-square Test
A test used to determine if there is a significant association between categorical variables.
Reliability
The degree to which an assessment tool produces stable and consistent results.
Validity
The extent to which a tool measures what it is intended to measure.
Degrees of Freedom (df)
The number of independent values or quantities which can be assigned to a statistical distribution.
Factor Analysis
A statistical method used to identify underlying relationships between variables.
