Frontal Lobe
Main functions: conscious thought and decision making; intelligence, memory, and personality; controls voluntary muscle movements.
Broca's area
Language production area located in the frontal lobe.
Left brain
Analytical, logical thinking; controls the right side of the body.
Right brain
Creative, abstract thinking; controls the left side of the body.
Cerebrum (cerebral cortex)
Largest part of the brain; includes the frontal, parietal, temporal, and occipital lobes.
Brain stem
Connects the brain to the spinal cord; manages basic life-sustaining functions (e.g., breathing, heart rate).
Cerebellum
Coordination and balance of movement.
Temporal lobe
Processes auditory information and memory.
Parietal lobe
Processes sensory information (touch, temperature, pain) and integrates spatial information.
Occipital lobe
Primary visual processing center of the brain.
