Early prophase
cromatin condenses into chromosomes cell breaks down some structures and builds others up while the mitotic spindle begins to form and the nucleus disappears

Late prophase (prometaphase)
The nuclear envelope breaks down allowing the chromosomes to move freely, they continue to condense and the mitotic spindle begins to capture and organize them.

Metaphase
The chromosomes align at the cells equatorial plate, preparing for separation.

Anaphase
The sister chromatids seperate and move to opposite poles of the cell

Telophase
cell starts seperating into two different cells. The nucleous reappears in each as the nuclear membrane forms. Cytokinesis starts to take place.
